The hotel was clean and offers good value for money. Most of the staff can't speak English or only a little, but they try to help you and in most cases can or will call an English speaking person. The location is pretty good and we had a very quiet room, especially considering, that there are a lot of bars and clubs in the area. The next subway station is within a ten minute footwalk, heizou square.

Location was excellent, perfect for all local attractions. We were surprised to have a window in our "no window" room.
Chargeable sundries in room were somewhat adult, not suitable for families.

Good value, clean room, close to scenic river.
One elevator, limited local shopping choices, hazardous sidewalks surrounding the hotel.

Hotel is good for night life people because there are so many bars and pubs near Hotel. Then there is a cornice just backside of the hotel for walking. There is a metro station at 10 minutes walk.
I did not like anything at Xidiwan Hotel. Hotel Staff does not speak English and does not cooperate at all. I am a Muslim so i asked receptionist if there is any muslim restaurents near Hotel. They answered that there is no muslim restaurents near our hotel. When i went out from the hotel and found some muslim restaurents. There is no laundry service in the hotel. Free internet is in all rooms but very slow.

Location is good. Not far from the Pearl River.
I was in a small room without windows. A truly claustrophobic experience.

The beds felt like I was sleeping on a concrete floor. So hard! And the night club across the street played loud music through most nights.

The location was good. It's close to the river and the metro station isn't a far walk. Close enough to Beijing Lu to walk and there's a lot of shops to see on the way there. The staff was friendly enough.
The bed was incredibly hard. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. WiFi only available in the lobby. We've stayed in a lot of hostels and low-rent hotels in China, and this wasn't the worst place we've ever stayed, but it was below average. Had we been in Guangzhou for more than one night, we would have looked for a different hotel the next day.
